In Memoriam: David Winecoff

Reformed Worship editorial council member David Winecoff died in a tragic accident while rock climbing in Colorado on August 18. David was 39, and he and his wife Jane have four children, ages 12, 8, 3, and 1. David was pastor of the Providence Reformed Presbyterian Church (PCA) in St. Louis, Missouri, and taught part-time at Knox Theological Seminary in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

An Advent Canopy

Bob De Jonge, a member of Eastern Avenue Christian Reformed Church in Grand Rapids, Michigan, was intrigued by "On the Way to Bethlehem," a resource in last year's Advent issue (RW25) that adapted the Children and Worship approach to create a Christmas program. With Children and Worship leaders, he adapted that resource into a processional that opened worship each week of Advent.

Baptism Banner

Faye Fredericks, member of Georgetown Christian Reformed Church in Hudsonville, Michigan, designed this baptismal banner based on Deuteronomy 4:9 and 6:4, where parents are instructed to teach the truths of God to their children and to their children after them. The banner is constructed with solid colors of the rainbow for each figure. The figures represent the successive generations, beginning with purple at the bottom, moving through navy blue,

New Way to Get Choral Music

A new service concept has been initiated by Christian Music Clearing House. This organization is currently working with over fifty churches and has over 3,300 preowned choral music titles available for purchase, rent, or borrowing. The clearing house charges an annual fee and provides, in addition to suggested negotiation information, an inventory list of all available materials. Beginning with this issue of Reformed Worship, we will make available a computer disk containing services and liturgies found in each issue. The disk will be formatted in MS-DOS on an IBM-compatible computer, and files will be saved in both WordPerfect 4.2 and ASCII.
