Mary’s posture of treasuring and pondering is the most appropriate one we can take in the midst of this Advent season. Therefore, it is important for us to pause in the middle of the hustle and bustle, and to join Mary in treasuring and pondering.
The Christian year is a cherished and terrific tool that blesses congregations, but worship planners should not overemphasize it to the point where they refuse to let it adapt for their contexts.
I am reminded to be grateful for God’s gift of plenty and pray for those in need whenever I see a pumpkin.
