Outside of prayers of confession, lament, illumination, and intercession there are also opportunities in our worship to offer up prayers of praise and thanksgiving. These can be short bursts of praise following an assurance of pardon, the sacraments, or at the conclusion of worship, or they can take the form of longer litanies of praise for specific services of thanksgiving. Some traditions refer to specific moments of sung prayers of praise as “doxologies.” Our God is a great God and is always worthy of praise!
