Holy Week is the week that starts on Palm / Passion Sunday and ends on Easter Sunday. It marks the events of Jesus’ last week including Maundy Thursday and Good Friday. Thus, over the course of the week, worshipers acknowledge different facets of Christ’s identity which also inflects the tone of their worship. The week begins in jubilation, hailing Jesus as King on Palm Sunday; Maundy Thursday is a somber reflection on the servanthood of Christ; worshipers are often encouraged to identify with the suffering of the crucified lamb on Good Friday; and there is celebration and rejoicing for the resurrected King and victor over Sin and Death on Easter Sunday.
